Who's Your Hero

Alexander Graham Bell

Biography of Alexander Graham Bell, InventorAlexander Graham Bell - Inventions, Biography & Telephone - HISTORY

For this project I have chosen Alexander Graham Bell as my hero because, to be frank, I'm not really sure what else to put for this blog. I think that his achievements in life and the cause or maybe the motivation behind them are an admirable one. Something that will be used and practically integrated into society and the modern world forever is quite the accomplishment, one that should be something worthy of one's respect and admiration.

His work on the telephone has made long distance communication an incredibly easy task, one that makes it almost impossible to think that we even managed as a community as well as we did without it.

The backstory behind his invention and work in acoustics and science could be attributed to his Family interactions, and his deafening mother. At around 12 years old Alexander was already a very curious child, who had created a simple dehusking machine to be used at the mill near where he lived, however at the same time his mother began to lose hearing, being the brilliant boy he was he would come up with ways to communicate with her using things like hand gestures.

Alexander would later work as a teacher in acoustics and all the while working arduously on his inventions in his lab. A couple tragedies, and some moving countries later in 1875 he would create an acoustic telegraph and would make a patent application for it.

I don't believe that my work here has done him the summary he is deserved, so I implore you to go find out for yourself the complete life of Alexander Graham Bell.
